Planning any memorial service, no matter how small, especially in another state, is a daunting task. When my father, a Vietnam Veteran, passed away, I wanted to prepare the arrangements and take some of the work off my brother. I started with a simple google search and was brought to Wortham Funeral Home and Cremations. I appreciated that it was local, and upon speaking to Doug, I could hear the passion he had for his fellow Veterans, having been a Veteran himself. He not only offered a discount for veterans but did all of the planning, paperwork, and everything in between to make sure my father would be laid to rest in the most respectful and dignified way possible at the Springfield, Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery. In our first conversation, he gave me his cell phone number, I often called with many questions, sometimes forgetting I was an hour ahead, but he always answered or called me right back. He and his son truly made things seamless, and my brother and I could focus on other things. Doug worked with the Springfield Chapter of the Warriors’ Watch Riders, and together, the service was a beautiful tribute to my father. Doug and his team honestly care and work tirelessly to ensure the service and all of the arrangements are one less thing you have to worry about.
